DIY: Self-Portraits Using Lace Curtains

Every now and then, I get the urge to do self-portraits. I love playing with shadows so I thought, why not use lace curtains. Here is my set up. I used heavy duty photography clamps to hold up lace curtains. Because I have screens that can roll up in my back patio area, I clamped the photography clamps onto those to hold them up. If you don’t have something like this, you can use a window and photography stand. Watch for how the light comes into your space. Set up your stand behind with one of the lace curtain panels behind you while you the other curtain either left or right of you depending on your window. Position your camera to make sure you get the right angles and just have fun. Here a few of my self-portraits and my set-up.
