Dear Isabella & Caiden,

This month has been very interesting.  We have been sick. I’m amazed that through the early morning cuddles, I find myself content.  Life is as it should be.  I remember, not so long ago, when both of you were really young, how the nights that I lost sleep were tough.  I found myself wishing I was out of that season.  But today, I realize how good these seasons are.  I don’t mind life stopping to hold you two in my arms.  It’s a good place to rest in knowing that these times won’t always be around.

Isabella, you have been working so hard on memorizing Isaiah 9:6, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”  I love seeing your eyes light up as you prepare for Jesus’ birthday.  I love the questions you ask – “Mama, where is Jesus? I want him to come here so that I can tell him the bible verse I learned.”  It puts a smile on my face.  Trust me, He’s listening.  You didn’t get to recite your verse at Tampa Covenant’s Advent Play since you were sick but hearing you recite it to me often is good enough.  We all need to hear it often.

Caiden, I’m in awe of you.  Each day, you are doing something new.  Your vocabulary is expanding.  I love hearing sentences come out of your mouth – “Mama, do I make your heart happy? Mama, Bella broke my heart!” You have such a sensitive soul.  You are quite the comedian too.  I love watching you dressed up as Batman and asking me to help you fly.  Your voice just brings a smile to my face.  And Yes, you do make my heart happy…all the time!

I love you both.  I’m thankful that I can call you mine!  I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.  I am so glad that through this season of life, you both are teaching me how to love, how to communicate better, how to give – how to sacrifice.
