Introduction to Photography will give the student hands-on experience with shooting with a DSLR in manual mode with Jenny Cordero, a Tampa, Fl Professional Photographer, who has been photographing family portraits since 2008. Along with experimenting with the camera, there will be activities to put things into practice and learn more about different styles of photography. Some of the topics that we will touch on are histograms, f-stop, aperture, ISO, depth of field, history of photography, and much more.

The goal is to have the student dabble into photography and build confidence in telling stories. Photography is a wonderful side job to help pay for college books. Hands-on experience will be provided through art shows, non-profit events, and sessions that will be photographed throughout the year. Students will also build their community service hours through these events. By the end of the year, students will be able to manually shoot with their cameras, edit images, and even produce a physical print.
